Charity credit cards

Owing to the high market competition number of credit card companies use various means and methods to attract customers. Charity credit card is another stepping-stone in that very aspect. This card is used for charity purpose by any particular organization involved in charity. Most of these credit cards are charged a fix amount of fee and the interest percentage. This category of card is best suited for the people working towards charity. Now most of the credit card companies issue these credit cards on behalf of charities which provide an excellent source of funding the cash strapped organization. So if you are a regular donor then just go for this card and avail its charity benefits.

The actual credit limit always depends upon your credit history, income and your credit card company’s discretion. Each credit card issuer charges a different rate of interest. Some companies have the fixed credit limit but for that your salary should exceed the set term in order to qualify. Higher is your annual income and credit rating higher will be your credit limit for charity card. People having bad credit history are generally provided with lower credit limits. However, it may get increased after certain time period.

This charity credit card works on a very simpler principle. Whenever you spend through your charity credit card, the organization you support for charity will get a certain amount of money one-off the fee and a certain percentage of the spending on the credit card. The more you spend, the more that organization will get in return. Generally the donated amount is far less as you would have thought so for raising more money you really have to spend awfully.

It is always advisable to opt for the credit card company, which directly deals in these types of cards because a number of other companies offering charity cards may charge a higher rate of interest. Charity credit card is not much different from the normal credit card. If you do not repay your outstanding amount then the rate of interest keeps piling up. Even if you miss the single payment you are levied with additional expenses and penalty. One of the key advantages of charity credit cards is that they allow a number of lesser-known charitable organizations to gain exposure, which would have otherwise been difficult. In this sense, charities benefit greatly as they receive free, nationwide marketing.

If you are fed up with cash back offers and reward points, which you hardly use, then it is advisable to go for the charity card that can return back something to the needy.
