of a loved one, a pet or if you are just in love with yourself,
then the Abbey has decided to offer it’s customers the chance
to personalize their credit cards with a picture
of their own choice.
The idea of a card that symbolises
you is a great incentive to a lot of customers, and the Abbey
will take on more customers due to the fact that the idea of having
their own unique card, that gives them the feeling of being different
to the masses.
The high demand for being original
and different is being met head on by the Abbey. A recent survey
carried out by NOP for Abbey, came up with results that said that
56 per cent of the people who took part in the survey would welcome
the chance to have the photo of their own choice on credit
cards and that 26% also hinted that they would go to a card
issuer if they offered this service.
The Abbey are also now putting
a forward a new summary page that you will receive with you statement,
that will help you keep an eye on the way that you are spending
your cash and where you are spending it most. This will include
giving totals of Direct Debits, Standing Orders, Cheques and Cash
that has been withdrawn from ATM’s.
This will make you more aware of
how much money that you are spending a month, and how to control
the volume of any debts that you are amassing.
Both new incentives will I think
give you more of a sense of belonging, and not looked upon as
just another number in the scheme of things.
Though not an obvious advantage,
personalizing your card could to some extent can add a little
more security to your card. If you really do love yourself then
a mug shot of yourself then brings the added safe guard into play
when presenting your card to an assistant.
